dear friends of artistry in sound,
it was a little sensation under the german weihnaxbaum (tannenbaum): a new repair of an already repaired grassi tenor sax !
mr. torsten köhler himself did the job: the replacement of an malfunctinal construction. the low eb lever of an vintage ida maria grassi tenor had been “improved” for some pre-owner reasons, but that spatula was scratching the proportional harmony of the beautifully restored horn.
no prob for a holzblasinstrumentenmachermeister: the original grassi lever is now working, and the feel to play it is just great fun.
the harmony itself works now…
note: holzblasinstrumentenmachermeister is a german meister title, not university ba/ma master, and from finest origin of the medevial craftmen´s traditions in europe.
and that tiny swing chip was given to the tannenbaum from mr. lars heuseler, CEO of foretone reeds japan.
so tiny, so nicely it´s working to the sound. and: replaceable – CONVERTIBLE !
kind regards,
m.e.z.
